About me

My name is Stephen Walker, and I’ve been living with multiple sclerosis since 1994. Back then, I was working as an engineer — a career I loved for its problem-solving and hands-on challenges. MS changed my path in ways I could never have imagined, eventually forcing me to give up driving and adjust to a new rhythm of life.

But I’m nothing if not stubbornly curious. Over the last 30+ years, I’ve learned to approach MS the same way I once approached a stubborn circuit board: logically, patiently, and with a touch of humour. These days, I spend my time blogging, investing in the stock market, and finding new ways to keep learning. Writing helps me cut through the fog of MS, and connecting with others reminds me I’m not alone in this journey.

I live in Scotland with my wife of more than 30 years, proud father to three grown sons and stepdad to two wonderful children. I’m also a very proud grandparent — a role that brings me both joy and perspective.

This blog is my way of sharing stories, reflections, and a few laughs about life with MS. It’s a mix of lived experience, gentle nonsense, and practical survival tactics — because sometimes, that’s exactly what MS demands.
